Definitely a good session. Glad we could make it!
03.04.2025 04:18 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I had no idea. Thanks for sharing!
24.03.2025 16:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Who had to master this iteration of the "autogrid"? I miss how quickly I could move grids in and out of the column but that's about it. I also got lucky and never dropped one inside the scope.
24.03.2025 06:20 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good luck!
23.03.2025 17:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sorry to hear that Mark. That was a long time to have such a friend.
21.03.2025 21:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Back to the tiny MT thing, huh? Very cool work! Congrats!
21.03.2025 15:22 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nice work!
20.03.2025 20:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In 1968, my dad's high school physics teacher helped their class build a crude electron microscope. In this photo you can see the increased resolution between the optical and electron image. I found this while sifting through his things and wanted to share.
20.03.2025 03:01 β π 8 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Hey Matthijn! Welcome! Good to see you here. It's been a while since we crossed paths.
18.03.2025 23:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The stars have aligned!
18.03.2025 01:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Your logo is much cooler than ours, by the way.
14.03.2025 23:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No :)
14.03.2025 23:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What did you mill into? I'd like to do something similar with our Penn State logo!
14.03.2025 22:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Congrats on the milestone and the solid dessert choice.
14.03.2025 20:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks for doing this important work! We just got our Hydra and HPF last week so it's especially relevant to us. We'll do a deep dive soon.
14.03.2025 07:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nice work!
14.03.2025 07:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The mill was mostly piloted by the talented Frances Allen. I don't want to take too much credit :)
14.03.2025 04:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Me at Berkeley in 2014, milling on one of the first cryo-FIBs built, which was purchased from the Wadsworth Center in NY. The transfer system and stage were built by Humming Bird. We didn't use any platinum. I drove the lamellae back to Caltech and a few survived. It was wild times!
14.03.2025 04:27 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0That's going to look awesome in the scope room!
13.03.2025 21:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks! We got our first neuronal lamella into the Krios today and are collecting tilt series now.
12.03.2025 21:02 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We can probably work something out. We've barely accessed it ourselves so it will take some time for us to start training new users. If they are already experts then it could be a different story.
12.03.2025 07:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Absolutely! And the high-pressure freezer will be installed tomorrow. It's kind of a dream come true.
12.03.2025 07:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If anyone has anything they want to mill into with us, please reach out.
12.03.2025 07:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Our Hydra Bio is up and running at Penn State College of Medicine! We want to thank @thermofishersci.bsky.social for all their help. Installation went smoothly and we're grateful to be working with your applications team, learning how best to use it. It's a beautiful instrument.
