I can't emphasize enough that the idea of a Paramount-WB merger producing 30-40 movies a year is an absurd fiction. First WB will become the "classy" label within Par (which is only about Rescue Rangers, Scream and existing IP). Then it will become the specialty or streaming label. Then it will die.

Playing up to the man in ways he understands by showing him fake newspapers writing about his greatness and using him being on that high to help out the people of NYC is a prime example of why he's the smartest dude in game.

There is such a wide lane available for a new major market newspaper with far lower overhead than the last remaining traditional ones. So many overqualified reporters who could use a daily digital home. So many valuable but now out of business brands that can be used to gain footholds in the market.

Once again, there's a growing supply of excellent journalists who need a new home and a growing demand for a news outlet that won't bend the knee to authoritarians and billionaires, seems like there's a slight opportunity here

From my recent podcast listening it seems one thing that unites at least some British monarchists and republicans is their blindness to colonial violence. Not here for the Cromwell stanning....

These are “low enrollment” majors but the classes are regularly at capacity. They changed the funding structure a few years ago here, switching the allocation from course enrollments to majors then blamed these departments for a structural, top-down change. This is entirely a political choice.

It is everyone's responsibility to first understand the cynical money-making racket that is academic publishing, and the damage done to interesting new ideas by peer review (the latter having been enthusiastically encouraged by publishers)...
...and then to sidestep it.
