I think it goes beyond Thiel. Seeing the ultra rich more and more unhinged is convincing me that allowing people to become that rich is incompatible with democracy.

Stuff like this really shows why separation of church and state is such an important Baptist doctrine.

When leadership in the church becomes a path to political power it attracts leaders whose goal is political power.

And usually this type of person is good at becoming a "leader".

It misunderstands Paul's view of obedience to government.

Paul is telling us "don't be stupid and make the government mad at you for unimportant stuff"

It was a pragmatic argument.

But, Paul disobeyed the government whenever it contradicted his faith. (Which is why he was in prison so often!)

Its all become Hierarchicalism. They cannot understand any relationship outside of the framework of hierarchy.

You submit to those over you, even if this means allowing them to harm those under you.

Right becomes whatever the boss says.

Show me the most depraved undocumented immigrant, who has committed the most heinous crime, causing harm to me directly. ICE should not shoot that person. EVER. The state should NEVER execute a person, period, and certainly not without due process, certainly not in the street. This is fundamental.
