I've tried chocolate and pumpkin spice filings. But I've seen all kinds. I think it's usually a thicker consistency custard or ganache style filling, but those could just be the ones I've experienced. Guswara sounds delightful!

I have chosen the House of Kouign Amann (queen uh-mon), but specifically the American version sometimes called kouignettes/queenettes because they have filling.

It's a pastry from Brittany, which is a Celtic region of France. Kouign Amann is pronounced "queen uh-mon". My husband and I discovered them in San Francisco and we've been obsessed ever since!

A Kouign Amann pastry (pronounced queen uh-MON) sometimes called a queenette. Like a croissant with sugar between the layers, baked in a muffin tin.

They're a laminated dough like a croissant, but there's sugar in between the layers with the butter. Then they stick it in a muffin tin so it's a cute little blossom and put a little blob of filling in the middle! Layered, crispy, sweet.

I'm in the House of Kouign Amann, but the more American style (sometimes called a Kouignette) because those usually have a filling.

Of course, it's even MORE frustrating when you get through the first box and buy a second only to have the fixation grind to a halt and now you have a mostly full box of cereal to stare at in your pantry, hoping it's still good by the time the pendulum swings back.

I have a soft spot for songs that are really just 3-6 ditties in a trench coat. I blame Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey.

It's always so frustrating when a food hyper fixation doesn't even last as long as it takes to finish a whole package of that food. For instance, my cereal eras almost never last for a whole box of cereal.

I think one of the reasons I tend to choose Alka Seltzer over other cold medicines is because it forces my dehydrated ass to drink a whole glass of water to feel better.

What's the point of saying that the president has to declare a "national emergency" to take control of tariffs if we don't even define what actually constitutes an emergency? Am I missing something?

We've been binge-watching this series recently and I can 100% confirm that they could not change a damn thing in a reboot and it would still be labeled "woke".

That's all just the background noise to the fact that our country is in crisis and much of my detonated mental state comes from that fact. Even if I got back on my meds, how long until Wormbrain outlaws them, makes them impossible to get, or sends me to a literal funny farm to "detox"? 4/4

Plus my insurance website (like so many others) doesn't have an accurate OR up to date list of providers that are covered by my company. The last time I went looking we called their call center (in India, inevitably) and still was sent an outdated list. 3/

I would need a woman therapist with experience (and patience for) my intertwined neurodivergencies (ADHD, Autism, probably CPTSD) that doesn't push CBT. I don't even know where to begin looking for someone like that. 2/

For real, though. Is there any point in attempting to get back on my SSRIs now that I'm insured again? It wasn't really helping before and I don't have the energy or patience to find a therapist. 1/
