Jill votes for people not parties. She adores the wife of the previous Conservative candidate who she knows from the WI and who is so gracious in defeat at the annual jam contest

Eddie does gardening work for the local Tory party Chair, his wife makes a lovely cuppa & tips at Christmas. Eddie repays loyalty with loyalty, voting Tory for many years.
