Since it’s a ministerial order they can’t refuse, but they’ve been accused by the premier of “vicious compliance”, so they’re not without some form of protest against it

It’s not the school board’s decision, it’s because of a Ministerial Order penned by Minister of Education Demetrios Nicolaides of the United Conservative Party and supported (and defended) by Premier Danielle Smith. The school boards and teachers’ union are universally opposed to the ban.

It’s here! After years in the making, “Rez Kid” is finally going to be available in every major bookstore in North America Tuesday, September 2nd! We are so excited about this little project that my girlies and I worked so hard on. I wanted a story that showed children the beauty of our homelands and life on the rez. So grateful for the beautiful illustrations by @bellabells.f and for bringing the story alive. And a big Miigwech to @kidscanpress for making this small dream a big reality. It’s really sad what happened to her during Covid. She didn’t used to be this crazy.

As a teacher in Alberta, going back to school with the current measles situation is going to be interesting to say the least.

I feel like their fathers are probably equally (if not more) responsible, no? Where were their positive role models?
