I'm Uncle Sam, That's who I am. Been hidin' out, in a rock n' roll band. Mainer, mariner, skier, data man, deadhead, etc.

I just bought a whole fucking ounce of weed for less than $25 at a retail store. God I love this state sometimes

The party that hid racism and misogyny behind β€œstate’s rights” for decades now has control of every branch of the federal government. They’re waging war on states in the name of racism and misogyny and laughing at the whole idea of state’s rights.

I think I started really noticing it in the first couple years of Trump 1, I was pretty surprised how willing legacy places were to hire reporters who got their start at like, Breitbart and similar absolute dumpster fires.

David, "I don't like pancakes" doesn't mean "Waffles are the best".

It's getting increasingly hard to deal with, I can no longer listen to national news shows while driving because I get road rage.

I'm sorry, Reagan was a doddering, evil, destructive prick, but he was not even in the same ballpark.

I think that's an underrated part of why 2020 was so close and why Dem's didn't do better in downballot races - they won big in 2018 and then COVID happened and they got blamed as much or more than Trump.

1) It's a bad joke, and it's very revealing about who she is

2) Giving paid speeches to the Fed Soc should immediately make you ineligible for a job leading a major news organization, because it makes you an extremist partisan.

I like how he's pretty clear in your interview that one of his big motivations for running is Jared being a condescending prick, not only to random constituents, but to a former colleague like Dunlap.

It's real refreshing to hear a Maine Democrat be honest about Jared Golden being a petulant asshole.

Maybe I should make this my pinned post

I think it's the same amount of vapid and thoughtless either way

Yeah the dynamics are way different than the 2020 Senate primary obviously but Maine Dem primary voters are not immune from the "preference for the mildly concussed" problem

I guess I more worry that the DSCC makes Wood their guy if Mills stays out, people remember Gideon.

That's a more optimistic way of looking at it, I'll take it

I am already seeing signs of dip shit state party people trying to make the carpet-bagging End Citizens United loser happen and I hate it

I wish this were not a true statement with all my heart

This is in keeping with the administration's overall approach to excellence: why do a good job when a shitty job will work just as well

I've been trying to put my finger on why ICE/DHS lies feel so much more outrageous than normal cop lies, and I think it's because they don't lie like cops, they lie like aggressively stupid criminals

Because their actual ideology is "the people we don't like should not have any healthcare" but that doesn't sound good on TV

They kinda taste like hyper concentrated herbal tea, so not not flowers?

07.10.2025 01:10 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah and that stuff is not really any better and to the degree it sounds better, she's lying

I've done the first one...to someone having a diabetic emergency...

The second one is probably worthy of institutionalization

1) yes, because this is the way

2) dry ramen packets. Break up the noodle block, dump the seasoning in, give it a good shake, eat like a bag of chips

07.10.2025 00:28 β€” πŸ‘ 25    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 6    πŸ“Œ 0

I think this is basically correct

06.10.2025 23:58 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah but unlike the Penobscot Indian Island reservation next door you basically have no idea it's an island

06.10.2025 23:24 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Part of it is on a sort of technical island, but mostly it's notable for being next door to Orono, the college town

06.10.2025 23:22 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Hell yeah for Matt Dunlop. But a minor geographic note, Old Town is not really an island
