I was looking through Revolutionary War flags and most of them are variants on the Betsy Ross flag and there's the Gadsden flag but I think this one's my favorite. He's WATCHING you

watching the UKs green party elect an actual unafraid leftist into leadership and see party membership double in under a month is once again endless proof that if you stand up for leftist causes and treat the electorate like adults, you’ll win people over easily

Both sides of a conflict are calling each other evil and corrupt, rendering me, a humble journalist, helpless to discern the truth. Best I can do is let you know that both sides are in fact saying those things. Hope this helps

Look at the etiquette ppl are taught in Biz School. Punchiness, confidence, and persistent attention-grabbing are prioritized far above any sort of epistemic thoroughness, careful structuring of complex arguments, or polite but firm dissent.

The lingua franca of biz has been slop long before GPT3.

UK planning to be speeded up with new powers for ministers Government is adding amendments to infrastructure and housing bill to strengthen scope for more timely construction

The trouble of course is that if you go around saying "zero tolerance for naysayers", it doesn't save much because you still need a budget to distinguish them from "if-you-keep-taking-water-out-of-that-acquifer-you'll-get-sinkholes-sayers"

Not just limited to purchases, also like, rate your customer service today, rate this movie, get 10% off if you leave feedback about what it was like to buy floss at the drugstore. This is why people tell you they didn't get the joke in your post and what you should have said, then expect a reward

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.

Scientists develop first β€˜accurate blood test’ to detect chronic fatigue syndrome Research could offer hope for ME patients – but some experts urge caution and say more studies needed

ME/CFS is a devastating condition that has long been denied, dismissed, psychologised and underdiagnosed. Research is at last starting to catch up with it, with glimmers of hope for those who have been left untreated for so long.

How many lights? Not enough to get tortured over IMO but everyone's different.

"We should all be angry that we had 14 years of Tory austerity. They shut our libraries, they shut our community centres. And then to say integration is a problem - how do you expect people to integrate if you've taken away their services?"
