I completely agree that this team is now how Verbeek wants it. I’m just not in agreement that’s it’s going to be enough to get back to the playoffs. At the end of the day there’s only one way to find out

Given how big he and the players have been on making the playoffs, I think if they don’t at least get close he’s probably gone, considering this is supposed to be I believe the last year of his contract. Also I don’t believe he meaningfully upgraded the team this offseason. So we’ll see

I’m still skeptical they can make the playoffs due to the fact that success pretty much entirely depends on the kids breaking out under a new coaching system and not having much regression in goaltending. But at least there’s a clear direction, which is something this team hasn’t had much of
