Smashing summer outlook really.

We shouldn’t let final third of July and early part of August cloud our judgement in what otherwise has been a very good summer.

Reliably very warm, sunny with long dry periods at least pov in southern England. And following a very nice spring!

Remaining cloud melting away. Feels very pleasant in London, 25C sunny and a fresh breeze.

A very dark gloomy evening in London. Much nicer tomorrow clear skies arriving from north and rather warm too up to 26C - possible extreme SE stays cloudy all day.

Only string of 28C max temperatures are needed in London so it’s not a high threshold for heatwave status. It is too low in my opinion but this is how Met Office have defined it.

Daylength now equivalent to May 4-5th in London. 6am sunrises in just over 2 weeks.

The seemingly much warmer weather on way is also accompanied with a lot of dry settled weather.

0 rain is forecast over next 10 days in London 👍🏻

A cool ish night tonight out of town probably slipping into single figures. Clear and calm.

The ECMWF AI forecast also shows extreme heat advancing northwards across southern UK next Tuesday.

The 20C isotherm has not yet visited us this summer. Once decades could pass, now it seems we only need to wait 2-3 years at most.

July 2025 in summary another very warm month. Warmer than 1976 in #London a powerful demonstration of how much our climate has changed, when a poor second half makes little dent.

Well model skill has never been higher. When it comes to showery rain areas it always remains difficult to pinpoint. Automated forecasts cannot be relied upon I always advise people to look at weather radar, maybe it requires a little foresight but you will have a better idea albeit less in advance

Something warmer and more summery on horizon? After a few setbacks we look to be back on course.
