Maxwell, our remarkable black rhino is a double survivor — a member of a critically endangered species, and permanently blind due to a congenital condition. Rescued 18 years ago as a lost, crying infant, Maxwell has a forever home with us since he cannot survive in the wild.

a teensy brown ball of fluff sits on a gray tile floor and looks up at the camera. the dog’s eyes are wide-set and pleading, and his little mouth curves down in a dramatic frown. his little body only takes up one half of one tile, and it looks like he could be swallowed up by shadows any second. pick him up!

a golden retriever puppy is scaling the wall of her crate. her front legs are draped over the top holding herself up, while her back right toes are gripping onto a bar of the crate. she realizes she's been caught and tries to play it cool with a casual smile. we would be remiss to leave out that she has a hamster water bottle attached to the side of her crate.

Belle, a brown dog with a white patch on her chest and toes sits against a beige wall. she's looking at us with wide eyes, and her ears start on top of her head. she may look a little different, but she's perfect.

This is Belle. She was adopted as a puppy from the humane society. She was likely stuck in the birth canal and as a result the muscles grew farther back on her head and are underdeveloped. She's perfectly fine, just looks a little different. We love her. 14/10 (IG: bellebows4117)

You can’t rip away health care from millions without adding tons of uncompensated care into the system and raising costs for all.
