I think @zackpolanski.bsky.social has a good point here - there is no reason why the charges cannot be dropped. Enforcement of this prohibition has been clumsy and excessive.

This is notwithstanding the High Court failed has not yet made an Order.

It should be a no-brainer shouldn't it. Either drop the charges, or create new legislation where it's actually illegal to embarrass Keir Starmer by showing up his moral bankruptcy, and arrest them for THAT.

Because that's basically all they did.

I have been asked whether the delay in the Order being made stops the police from dropping any charges.

And the answer is: no the police can make their own decision.

Just as the police have already said they will pause making further arrests.

The Palestine Action judgment does not yet have legal effect, as no Order has been made and it looks like an appeal will be made.

That said, there is no barrier to the police dropping the charges already made after the mass arrests.

That is a separate and distinct decision.

The answer, he says, is a dash for wind that will create an almost decarbonised electricity grid by 2030. This, Mr Miliband once pledged, would eventually lower domestic bills by £300 per household per year. That promise has duly evaporated, along with the jobs of workers in Britain's offshore gas and oil industry, casualties of his other great obsession: ending exploration in the United Kingdom sector of the North Sea.

Given the amount of briefing against Miliband in the RW media, they must view him as a serious threat. No wonder The Times is praising McSweeney's political acumen, since he's managed to undermine Labour support and agitated for Miliband to be moved.
