These two things are the same thing: some Labour right dickhead compiling a dossier of idiotic smears and then sending it to a third party to make it look neutral and independent. It’s *literally the same journo* who published the smears, and then got the same smeary treatment.

How the Conservative Party Baked a National Pothole Crisis They even gave it an official name in Oxfordshire: β€˜Managed Decline’

Worth bearing in mind this applies to all the responsibilities of local government not just road maintenance

Europe wants to end its dangerous reliance on US internet technology As the US increases political pressure on Europe, it’s possible to imagine the continent losing access to key computing services.

β€œNo country, let alone continent, will ever be completely digitally independent, and nor should they be. But by pulling together, Europe can ensure its digital systems remain accessible even in a crisis – just as is expected from its physical infrastructure.”

Everyone knows that a junior dickhead compiling a dumb dossier on the man who wrote this insulting drivel is *exactly the same thing*, but one of these stories makes the press look like virtuous victims while the other exposes them as a blight upon the species. Naturally they go with the former.

Unbelievably infuriating that this is how these swine are finally going to deal with the long Labour ratfucking campaign in which *the same people* deliberately put their thumbs on the scales in a general election campaign.

My world, my Earth is a ruin. A planet spoiled by the human species. We multiplied and fought and gobbled until there was nothing left, and then we died. We controlled neither appetite nor violence; we did not adapt. We destroyed ourselves. But we destroyed the world first.

A lot of the problems with AI is due to humans anthropomorphising it. If you wrote a column in the Telegraph or the NYT called β€œI was shunned by my Soda-Stream” most would assume you’re unwell or Adrian Chiles had left the Guardian.

Zack Polanski, "2,600 have been arrested for standing with Palestine Action"

Pete - you have stated my position incorrectly.

I think @zackpolanski.bsky.social has a good point here - there is no reason why the charges cannot be dropped. Enforcement of this prohibition has been clumsy and excessive.

This is notwithstanding the High Court failed has not yet made an Order.

It should be a no-brainer shouldn't it. Either drop the charges, or create new legislation where it's actually illegal to embarrass Keir Starmer by showing up his moral bankruptcy, and arrest them for THAT.

Because that's basically all they did.

4 months ago, I got into a debate with a pro-Israel spin doctor who insisted that (1) the genocide was ALL Hamas' fault + (2) the killing would stop AS SOON as Hamas released its hostages.

I replied "I challenge you to publicly admit that you were wrong as soon as Israel attacks again."

He hasn't.

If the Brexit years really were behind us, Reform would no longer be a threat, there’d be no talk of leaving the ECHR, no Brexit peerages or whining about β€˜Brexit betrayal’.
Instead, there’d be accountability and an electoral price to pay for the damage done. A ruthless reality check. No prisoners.

I have been asked whether the delay in the Order being made stops the police from dropping any charges.

And the answer is: no the police can make their own decision.

Just as the police have already said they will pause making further arrests.

15.02.2026 08:20 β€” πŸ‘ 70    πŸ” 9    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 1

The Palestine Action judgment does not yet have legal effect, as no Order has been made and it looks like an appeal will be made.

That said, there is no barrier to the police dropping the charges already made after the mass arrests.

That is a separate and distinct decision.

One of the by-products of the Mandelson affair has been a rebalancing of power within the government in favour of Labour's "soft left". Morgan McSweeney, who resigned as chief of staff to the prime minister on Sunday, was important not only for the political acumen he brought to No10 but his economic realism, a scarce commodity in his party. Now Mr McSweeney is no more, the field has been yielded to the likes of Ed Miliband, secretary of state for energy security and net zero.

Mr Miliband, like the rest of his cabinet col-leagues, has never run a serious company, but that does not stop him thinking he knows best for Britain's businesses, presently struggling with the highest energy bills in the club of advanced nations. The answer, he says, is a dash for wind that will create an almost decarbonised electricity grid by 2030. This, Mr Miliband once pledged, would eventually lower domestic bills by Β£300 per household per year. That promise has duly evaporated, along with the jobs of workers in Britain's offshore gas and oil industry, casualties of his other great obsession: ending exploration in the United Kingdom sector of the North Sea.

Given the amount of briefing against Miliband in the RW media, they must view him as a serious threat. No wonder The Times is praising McSweeney's political acumen, since he's managed to undermine Labour support and agitated for Miliband to be moved.
