Cant really be bothered to cook anything so having a toasted cheese sandwich.

Recently, the weeks have been so busy that I’m actively looking forward to Sundays, and this is a giant leap forward. I just hope I go on living long enough to enjoy it.

Water butts, deck cleaning liquid, bucket, watering can, broom, mop. It's a composite deck so I don't need to worry about slipping. The exercise is probably very good for me, but I could wish for slightly speedier results.

I have been trying to clean the deck without a pressure washer, and without using a hose because, hell's bell's, I am now on a water meter (that was the major reservation I had about moving here). It's not going well.

Ah, yes, thank you. Most of my books are in storage and have been since last year. Ugh. But I was trying to remember this series and, of course, I kept thinking of Stranger Things. I enjoyed these, and so did my son and elder daughter. Younger D is abroad so doesn’t get among the sharing.

I find I’m avoiding the broadcast news more and more unless there’s a particular matter they are likely to cover amid the political speculation, which seems to be 90% of news these days.

I avoided news programmes this morning. I am not interested in the witch hunts organised by the baying packs of media pi-dogs, left or right, against Reeves, Andrew, Labour or whoever else is fashionable while they slaver fondly over Farage and Trump.

Went to bed fearful, woke up fearful. Which is all pretty damn pointless.

Neither had I. As far as I could see, it was just a tray-baked Victoria sponge with icing and sprinkles. If we ever had it, which I don't remember, it was probably called sponge pudding. I liked the sprinkle making, though.

Council handyman here to put up a new shelf, hang a big mirror, and fix handrails off the garage back door down the step there, on the step down on to the grass, and a small grab rail out of the kitchen doir. #Ageproofing
