Also had the realization tonight that The Merry Wives of Windsor might be the first ever Modern Day AU. Knew I liked that Shakespeare guy for a reason.

This was GREAT. Had a wonderful moment when the audience was crying laughing during a scene, realizing that people have been sitting and laughing at this scene for over 400 years, that we could be in 1605 or 2025 and it’d be the same and it just made me love people and theater and story so so much 💕

If I’ve said it once, I’ve set it a thousand times: we need rom com comics. Shoujo manga is huge and we’ve got a bit in middle grade/ya but we need to make this a MUCH bigger subsection of comics.

Realized on my drive tonight (while listening to their Covet episode) that the terrible, no good book I read two weeks ago would be perfect for @worstbestsellers.bsky.social and now my fingers are crossed they do an episode (I volunteer as tribute if needed! Let my sacrifice mean something lol)

I remember when 3D printing was first a thing, they came out with a 3Dprinted cover version of On Such a Full Sea by Chang-Rae Lee that was like $100 but it was so flimsy, almost all of them were broken by the time they got to the store. INNOVATION

Oh god, I know. Took a class on gothic fiction in college and all that stuff is WILD. There was a fun Northanger Abbey update by Val McDermid 10 or so years ago that had Catherine obsessed with Twilight and convinced General Tilney was a vampire. Pitch perfect.

Abbey is my favorite Austen (I adore Catherine and Henry and relate to being too trusting towards terrible friends as you're too excited about having one) but I have such a soft spot for Mansfield and Fanny. Fanny's been dealt a godawful hand and is just doing her best and being true to herself.

Best friend is on her way back home after a great 10 day visit which means, of course, I am already planning when I can go visit her next. 💕

It was very fun! All sorts of rides and a great view!
