Dabbles in paint and charcoal now and again, proud granddaughter of a Suffragette. Lucky enough to live in leafy North London. Older but certainly none the wiser.

Just listening to @mrjamesob.bsky.social now describing the range of activities carried out by Palestine Action.

He asks "should we be using the word 'terrorists' rather than 'activists'?"

I have to say that yes. The more I hear, the more I find it hard to avoid using the word 'terrorists'.

Starmer urged to stand up to EU over tough holiday checks on Brits Keir Starmer was challenged to 'stand up' for Britain and fight tough new checks for UK citizens travelling to the EU.

The folks who wanted to leave the EU and end free movement - include Farage himself - chose this outcome and are fully responsible for it. And the Mail article repeats the "travel insurance" and "return ticket" falsehoods from the Times article.

Its a Brexit Benefit.

Want to know what’s going right in Britain? Come to the capital, look at the Elizabeth line railway | Jonn Elledge It’s a β€˜can-do’ object lesson for the Treasury. And imagine what such ambition could do for the fortunes of Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds, says author Jonn Elledge

One in every 7 rail journeys is now made on the Queen Elizabet line, widely panned for decades as a planning disaster, but now paying back in shed loads. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

It is such an important issue these days, especially the under acheivement in education for white, working class boys.

Whatever demographic is left behind in education, we must support them to catch up and reach their full potential.

Right now, it is this group which needs help.

Far too many white working class kids don't get results they need says minister Bridget Phillipson vowed to tackle the 'thorny' challenge of British white working-class kids falling behind their classmates ahead of A-level results day

We’ve spent our first year fixing the foundations in our schools: turning the tide on attendance & teacher recruitment.

Now I’m turning to the thorny, generational issues of our time, like driving up educational outcomes for white working class children.

Thought you might like this picture.

It shows the construction of a tower and building for the large air source heat pump for Worthing's new low carbon heat network.

Once completed next year it will initially supply heat and hot water to public buildings like the town hall, hospital and museum.

UK pledges additional humanitarian support for Gaza International Development Minister Baroness Chapman announced further UK funding for the UN humanitarian response in Gaza.

You would expect the UK sending millions more aid to Gaza & becoming the biggest contributor of aid through the UN's OCHA office would be widely reported in the UK.

After all, it's a big event in one of the most important news stories right now.

But I can only find 1 headline this morning.
