You know. Learning is a life-long journey, etc etc. I think having started an instrument at their age is valuable on its own…imo the most important thing for keeping playing is if it’s an enjoyable thing for them

Hmmm, I know my bias leans towards reading music. Being able to read music fairly well allows me to learn any number of new songs pretty quickly. Of course, as an adult I’ve been working to improve my ears and strengthen those skills so 🤷🏻‍♂️
