Is there a hub Nashville request to get a traffic light changed to whatever type can recognize cyclists and doesn’t need the weight of a car to change?

To be fair, Nashville wants none of this. The state is trying to force it on us

The baby seems to like it more because they get more wind/better view. She always seemed very tucked away like if they fell the shell would protect her arms and legs. @immortalcashew.bsky.social

No clue if there’s research or consensus. It’s definitely a different riding experience for where weight is and I could see how it maybe wouldn’t be as safe because the kid is so much higher off the ground but it seemed safe enough to me for my baby especially for rides just for fun on a greenway

I probably wouldn’t have felt comfortable until a year with both for the trailer. Yeti seat was good for younger.

Now at 14 months she is big enough to sit in the UA next to her sister (almost 4) with a helmet on on the back bench (closest to the cyclist). We’ve also pulled her in a burley trailer with a helmet on at this point I think. @immortalcashew.bsky.social anything to add?

I still have an open request on hub from over a month ago to clean it up from a storm in May and one from two months ago about potholes on the greenway so not getting my hopes up about something happening quickly but still good to know Brenda’s on the case

Every time it rains I have to put in a hub request here for them to clean up this greenway entrance. Super slippery and muddy for biking

We have the VW ID 4 with our two kids and love it. We were able to get the 7500 tax credit on it for being manufactured in the US (the final put together was in Chatt and that counted). That was a few years ago, not sure if that credit program is still around

I just have to say, as a historian of the Reconstruction-era Klan, that masked paramilitaries are very bad and masked vigilantes are even worse and there are causal links between the two and none of this is good for democracy.

Over the weekend, a woman was killed in a crosswalk in Germantown and a pedicab operator was sent to the hospital and yet this is what I have to contend with on Church St this morning. @nashvilledot.bsky.social & @hubnashville.bsky.social, have we just given up completely on Church St?

Holding the baby and scrolling Bluesky in the middle of the night really makes me appreciate the people who use dark mode before taking screenshots and posting them.
