No, not streaming yet. It's the Doc'n Roll film festival across a few London cinemas at the moment, and this was being shown tonight

So this was great. Possibly ever so slightly too long but really well done

It would have been nice to not have Johnny Depp pop up as a talking head, but I'll grudgingly acknowledge that he's a pretty significant part of one aspect of Gibby Haynes' story so he was at least relevant

Whereas, conversely, I know very little about Butthole Surfers, and I know them by reputation more than by their music, so this is going to be something of an introduction to them for me

From what I've seen at work, I think this will become pretty common. There's a general policy of "AI can do it; we don't need people" to justify cost cutting (and costs will be cut to chase arbitrary growth goals) that will backfire, especially as AI isn't even defined in these decisions

Am unexpected unifying theme running through This Band Could Be Your Life is how many of the bands featured got a gig opening for Public Image Ltd, and basically every time the main takeaway from them playing that show is "PiL were pricks"

Dumb ass, big chorus, 90s/00s pop punk and emo playlist to help get through boring documentation tasks at work, and I just realised that having Bowling For Soup's 1985 on a playlist in 2025 is the equivalent of being the subject of the song back when it was released

I've still seen this only once, but absolutely loved it. That lurch from fairly straightforward new French extremity into art house horror is everything

Interesting to see fleeting moments of this that were direcly referenced in the remake (including the chicken gumbo, and the bus/tram jump scare) but also the scene with the dead sheep in the zoo, which is re-used in Ken Russell's Altered States (which was the Bar Trash movie last weekend)

Following watching Paul Schrader's Cat People at Bar Trash by watching Jacques Tourneur's Cat People on iplayer, with cheese and biscuits on the side. I'm sure the combination of two were-cat movies and late night cheese won't cause any issues
