Map of DC showing federal troops mainly in tourist-heavy areas, not crime centers.
A useful WaPo map of where Trump Storm Troops are actually operating in DC.

If you know DC, what this map tell you is: They're making the gaudy show of strength in areas where it matters least and will do least good. Except for sheer spectacle.

The best part about the AHA Guidelines for AI pile-on is that if you scroll through the quote skeets, a hapless AHA employee teases that a *second* report (addressing research and scholarship) is due to drop!

Doesn’t look good! Incidentally, I remember recently reading a piece by the MS state treasurer for @mississippifreepress.org saying that, in fact, everything is fine, in fact never been better.

It’s rich reading David prattle on about manufacturing and jobs since, like Trump, he’s never worked an honest day in his life. If you actually ever did any reporting on him or his scant “accomplishments” as Treasurer…well that would actually be a service to your readership.

🚨Alert🚨 In the recent weeks, Park Police has been posting up at local parks, like Malcolm X, arresting people for minor things like smoking weed, and then transferring them to ICE. REMEMBER: Most parks in DC are actually federal land. 1/

Children Beg for Father’s Release After ICE Detains Jackson Man
Activists are calling on immigration officials to release Kerlin Moreno-Orellana from ICE custody after his arrest for illegal dumping.
Two Mississippians were arrested for illegal dumping in Jackson on June 16. One, Christy Parker, was quickly released. Kerlin Moreno-Orellana was not. His arrest triggered an alert in a vast federal network of immigration enforcement. Now, it's unclear when and if he will see his family again.

The @housedemocrats.bsky.social betrayed DC today:
- 30 of them voted to take away the local DC government's ability to discipline DC police officers
- 56 of them voted to strip non citizens in DC of their right to vote in local elections
Don't ever let them tell you they are a pro-democracy party.
