Cheers. It’s been pretty brutal, but at least it’s been quick.
Months of him suffering would have been awful.

Given his medical history, the rapid deterioration, his obvious pain and discomfort and his growing inability to keep himself upright without support (let alone walk), we’ve decided it’s best to let him go off peacefully tomorrow afternoon.

Goodbye bud. You are the best boy.

After becoming lame in his left foreleg over the course of a couple of weeks, not responding to pain relief or improving at all, we’ve been told our lad Saru potentially has a bone or nerve tumour and precise diagnosis alone could run to the thousands of pounds.

This is what I’m thinking he might have. He’s on the correct medication to treat a less severe case of IVDD, just have to restrict his activity as much as we can. Hoping that does it. 😭

As soon as Sally left I was like NOPE

It has really deteriorated even since I took him to the vets on Tuesday. So he’s on strict rest and medication and back to the vet early next week if there’s no improvement.

Our older dog is struggling with a limp, which isn’t hugely unusual given his arthritis and a chronic condition with his toes, but has really started to drag his foot a lot which could indicate something much more serious.
