They can but often times they dont. Here in the US some states are currently funneling tax money away from public education to give to private religious schools. They’re doing this to indoctrinate children and spread hate against LGBTQ+ students.

These people are likely subjected to propaganda that tells them poor people are stealing from them by using benefits like SNAP. The reality is the rich are stealing from all of us, it’s why working people need help in the first place. This is a class war!
