This bullfrog was completely uncooperative about receiving help to get out of the pool. He was gone when we got home, so he either used the frog log to get out or a bird-of-prey had a good meal. Gorgeous boy!

Looks a bit similar to the little guys I saw about a year ago, which I know nothing about taxonomically. Our artificial frog pond was teeming with them for a little while.

Our pool turned into an artificial pond over the pandemic. When we planned to get it back to being a pool, we saw it was teeming with life, especially tadpoles. We turned an old hot tub liner into a tadpole and invertebrates emergency nursery. This is one of my favorite pics from then 😊
