Minimizing COVID-19 is maximizing social harm Governments, in the interest of maintaining the status quo, seem to be misleading people and hoping for the best.

Many things will affect how well a student will do in school. Some you can control, others you can't

One that affects every student (and teacher), and that we can control, is indoor air quality

In this video I walk through how and offer some solutions

I haven't seen one single study that shows it's harmless to keep getting Covid again & again. But there are thousands of peer-reviewed studies that document long-term harms

We often get asked, "What can I *personally* do to help address climate change?"

Sadly, there hasn't been a very good answer to this question. Previous guides often treated people as monoliths, providing a one-size-fits-all answer.

But that's all changed, thanks to SHIFT.

In case you need an ethicist's input: it's not only acceptable but, I'd argue, obligatory to say what you need to say to get a COVID vaccine. We have duties of care to each other, and particular duties of solidarity to those the regime wants dead, which supersede situational duties of truthfulness.

We interviewed 62 older Minnesotans who lost white-collar jobs later in life. Nearly 75% refused to move, and 3 big problems kept them locked in place Laid-off boomers find that careers aren't the same as when they started out. Then there's housing and family.

COVID is airborne & still with us, evidenced by hospitalisations & deaths data.
Many feel in a better place than at the height of the pandemic, but health protections do still matter: such as effective ventilation, booster vaccines, and testing.
Long COVID continues to affect the lives of millions.

Are you an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student at a Canadian university? Researchers at Western University are exploring the extent to which university students in Canada adhere to the Government of Canada’s (2024) individual public health measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; students' reasons for adhering or not adhering to these recommendations; and what would help students feel motivated to adopt recommendations. I’m seeing a lot of people posting about how sick they are with a β€œsummer flu”

Main complaints? Fatigue, extremely sore throat, fever and loss of smell.

It’s Covid. The Nimbus variant is here & appears to be more transmissible.

It’s time to wear a respirator, clean the air & stay home when sick!

Ontario has a long and unfortunate history with substandard care in for-profit long term care facilities - and in close ties between the industry and Conservative politicians. This new regulation will censor all reports on LTC after 3 years, and hide evidence of negligence etc from the public.

This mismatch between public perception and epidemiological reality has real policy consequences. Emergency response systems are designed to spring into action, not to sustain low-intensity, multi-year challenges. During the worst of the COVID years, surge funding mechanisms allowed some governments to build field hospitals in days. But years later, those same governments have yet to address chronic underfunding in long-term care, primary care, ventilation in schools, or paid sick leave policies. These are not dramatic fixes, but they are what most impactfully improve and save lives over time.

You have three days, starting today, to leave a public comment with the FDA about, say, why COVID-19 boosters should remain available to everyone and also free. "Individual consumer" is the category you most likely want (unless you are one of the other categories; if so, choose that).
