My beginner ELs made “Day in My Life” slideshows comparing their life in their home country to their life here in the U.S. Yesterday they presented their projects to students in our school’s Leadership and Service class, and it was an incredible experience for all! #ELsky

Thank you for this. 💔Feeling the same and hadn’t really even articulated it for myself until I saw your video. Last year was… a lot, I got through it by hoping this year would be better, & now… it’s still a lot. (& my younger kid is sad about our special summer time ending, which doesn’t help! 😭)

Thank you for this thread! My kids are the only people who mask at their schools and I’m the only person at mine. Parenting is so hard anyway, and then with all this… what a world for them to try to grow up in.

9yo enthusiastically explained how they had a lockdown drill today & since they’re in a portable this year, they lie down on the floor instead of hiding under desks… presumably b/c the portable walls are so thin they’re more worried about bullets coming through the wall before someone comes in? 😭

Yes! It’s very different than last l time and it’s definitely making me even more unsure of what to address or not!

I have one and it’s super easy to mute and unmute - not sure what you have but on mine you just push a giant button! And it lights up red when muted so you always know! 😁 I just got it in December and am really liking it!

Soooo good! I read it in English and then bought the Spanish one when I got to meet him at a PD in my area! An incredible story and so well-written!

I loved Inés del Alma Mía by Isabel Allende and there’s a tv series of it on Prime Video that I liked after reading the book! 🎉 I also read No Somos de Aquí by Jenny Torres in Spanish and it was fantastic!
