The opinion polls are right. 1/3rd of voters do like Reform…

On the flip side they show 2/3rds really really hate them, and will vote to stop them. And the good people of Caerphilly delivered here.

The fact they can find money to build another road tunnel under the Thames but keep delaying the next stage of transpennine rail improvements is another example

This is quite unusual. The forecourt is frequently land belonging to the shop, because lots of shops came into being in the Victorian era and are converted homes, the forecourt was the front garden. This being a mid-late 20c estate and purpose built eradicated this practice?

Massive up tick in β€œLabour voters” on here recently.

Though to be fair some are occasionally taking a break from β€œattack the Zack” to take the odd pot shot at the Tories….

Yes it should have been built decades ago. And yes again it should be connecting major cities across the UK. But neither of those exactly reasons to stop building a new HS line between Birmingham and Manchester… πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

23.10.2025 14:14 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes, they need to deliver a new HS line between Birmingham and Manchester (as that’s where it’s needed, where most of the benefits are and makes the original section actually useful) but in a better way. I.e sort out the mess that’s the current iteration of HS2…

23.10.2025 14:08 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The fact you think it’s intended to be between Old Oak Common and Curzon St shows your lack of knowledge about HS2. Building it to Manchester and other northern cities is exactly what makes it a usable rail route.

Uk supermarkets typically make about ~4% they face higher costs in terms of increased NI and supplier costs, and soon higher business rates, they are affected by inflation and higher energy costs too. So a lot of government choices DO mean you pay more.

BP etc, now they’re the ones taking the piss

Imagine how much more they could have done if they hadn’t wasted energy on Farage-lite immigrant bashing, removing benefits from people with disabilities, or that bloody stupid ID card scheme. If they can β€œonly do so much” how about not doing all the shitty things above?

Its rearranging the deck chairs (the franchisees only did what the DfT told them too) and won’t change much unless much they sort out things like electrification, the mess of Brum-Manc post HS2, stop delaying further investment in transpennine/NPR (while still finding Β£bns for southern road schemes)

It’s amazing how Miele can make a higher quality machine, in Europe, and sell at a similar or lower price than Dyson, and still make a profit….

Yep. My Miele still going strong after ten years of abuse including throwing it down the stairs more than twice (ok the last throw means the little flap that hides the accessories keeps popping open). I’d definitely get another but I doubt I’d ever have too!

It does depend on the fruit/vegetable. In many instances it prolongs the shelf life and reduces damage so that a lot less produce is wasted. Paper packaging isn’t necessarily better as it weighs approx 3/4x as much which multiplied by 1000s of items adds much more in transport costs and emissions

Bellend
Utter Bellend
Utter F*cking Bellend
Utter F*cking Cretinous Bellend

Unfortunately there’s a character limit so I don’t think we can fit in how much a bellend that the 🍊 πŸ’© is though

When we camp in our van we do a small shop for β€œjust in case” (been caught out arriving after everything has shut before) but always end up shopping/eating out locally. We don’t even have a β€œkitchenette” in our van, relying entirely on cafes and pubs for meals. I’m not washing up if I’m on holiday!
