the biggest lesson from the emails today is that powerful people are so unafraid of consequences for crimes as bad as β€œraping children” that they will just talk about it openly in emails

the only path to a better society is one where that is no longer true

The Epstein story gets a something that is tearing at the heart of the electorate: elite impunity. The idea that wealthy and powerful people can do terrible things *at scale* and face no consequences for them. Whatever political party actually stops it could rule the country for a generation.

Another thing this email trove has convinced me of is that NYT has been actively and consciously helping Trump since 2015. It wasn't just casual sexism, double standards, and political reporting Kayfabe. They were doing catch and kill

Discharge Petition No. 9, Bill Number: H.Res. 581, 119th Congress SPONSOR: Thomas Massie DESCRIPTION: Pursuant to clause 2 of rule XV, I, Thomas Massie, move to discharge the Committee on Rules from the consideration of the resolution entitled, a resolution providi...

BREAKING: Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) just signed the discharge petition to force a vote on making the DOJ release all of its Jeffrey Epstein files.

She was the 218th signature, which means the petition is now frozen and no member can remove their name.

Under the Big Ugly Bill, Alphabet gets $17.9B in tax breaks. That could pay for SNAP benefits for 7.5 million Americans.

Amazon gets $15.7B. That could lower ACA premiums for 2.4 million people.

Microsoft gets $12.5B. That could cover Medicaid for 3.8 million children.

A screenshot of a post made Sarah on Substack: I was suspended from BlueSky for defending the honor of Johnny Cash.
I wish I were joking.
In early October, I referenced I’m the β€œI shot a man in Reno just to watch him die” lyric of β€œFolsom Prison Blues” in response to a terrible Wall Street Journal article saying that Johnny Cash was uncool. I quote-tweeted the article and everyone understood the reference. There was no outcry.
I stand by my assessment that Johnny Cash is cool.
I do not like being the subject of so much attention, especially when I cannot see the discussion. But the BlueSky admins are now claiming that I wrote a post saying, out of nowhere, β€œI want to shoot the author of this article just to watch him die”. They are not posting a screenshot of the actual tweet, which shows that I am quote-tweeting an article about Johnny Cash, and that my post is obviously not a threat but a play on β€œFolsom Prison Blues.”
BlueSky is lying and saying I posted this line on November 10. I did not. I posted it in early October, when the WSJ article came out. You can see that they are lying about the date from this page showing my last BlueSky tweets:
I was not given any explanation for my suspension the first two times I inquired. Later I was told it was for the β€œFolsom Prison Blues” reference, and I asked for clarification but did not receive it. I thought it might be a prank until a reporter reached out this morning and confirmed it.
BlueSky’s behavior is bizarre and unwarranted. I have lost access to friends and all my posts and photos. I am incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support here on Substack and also on BlueSky β€” though I cannot see it, because I am suspended.
To quote another Johnny Cash song: "I ain’t never done nothin' to nobody/ I ain’t never got nothin’ from nobody, no time/ And until I get somethin' from somebody, sometime, I don't intend to do nothin' for nobody, no time."
As for BlueSky… (image of Johnny Cash shooting the bird)

So about Sarah Kendzior’s suspension. I really would like for you to consider who in this moment has credibility, and who you should actually believe. Is it the folks banning Palestinians and trans ppl, or the scholar on authoritarianism?

As I said before, I’m with Sarah.

This really struck me. If Uber were legally acknowledged as an employer, then it would be the biggest employer in the world, with over 9,000,000 employees globally. Think about how many taxes, wages, and protections are being lost b/c of their intransigence.

Earnest post: there is increasingly direct evidence that Trump participated in child sex trafficking or at least knew about it.

He should resign, be impeached and removed from office, and prosecuted.

Even if you don’t think that WILL happen it’s important to say publicly that it SHOULD happen.

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

The idea that sexual abuse is part of β€œprivate” life instead of a public crisis has done incalculable damage. Anti-rape activists have to fight to even make it possible to expose sexual abuse as a wrongdoing in public without being silenced and undermined. That fight is far from won

Democratic elected officials & pundits LOVE to tell voters to put "X, Y, Z" behind them and "move on." This means that they never, ever, ever address X, Y, Z. This is a significant reason the country is where it is. For ex, Obama came in saying "we're not looking back" and man was that wrong.

How Trump Has Exploited Pardons and Clemency to Reward Allies and Supporters The president’s second term has brought a flood of clemency for allies and donors β€” as well as felons, like him, who were convicted of financial wrongdoing.

β€œIf you’re just an average citizen, you can’t even get in the line,” said a lawyer rep'ing a man seeking a pardon for decades-old tax crimes.

β€œI told my guy he’d probably be better off if he broke into the Capitol or made a major donation to Trump’s inauguration.”

every tiny crumb that leaks out is a career ending bombshell and we’re all just supposed to go on with our lives while our elected representatives shrug and tell us there’s nothing to be done about the president’s involvement in a child sex trafficking operation

i mean c’mon. the president’s best friend was the most notorious pedo in the country’s history who ran a massive child trafficking ring. every bit of circumstantial evidence we have says that trump was a participant. if this were a criminal trial we’d have enough evidence to compel a plea deal.

Epstein Alleged in Emails That Trump Knew of His Conduct

One day the US will have to face the shame and horror of what has happened here: that a cabal of wealthy people have elevated a monster into the most powerful person in the world www.nytimes.com/2025/11/12/u...
