WE DID IT!!!
The government has just announced that itΒ΄s scrapping FPTP for mayoral elections.
In May, this absurd system resulted in some Mayors being elected on as little as 25% of the vote.
This is a victory of communities around the country. But it's just the beginning...
The vote share needed to win a majority in Parliament is getting lower and lower.
Whether it's Labour, the Tories or Reform: full control of our laws, our public services and foreign policy should never be in the hands of someone most people don't support.
We need #PRnow.

Has @bbcβs More or Less ever examined the inequities of the British electoral system?
Asking for a countryβ¦.
So youβre judging their capacity to gain media attention by the media attention they get?
By that measure they should just say clickable shit like βimmigrants outβ or βdown with homosβ whether itβs policy or not.
Sensible policies are, by definition, less attention grabbing.
I think the most straightforward explanation is one I was given by a veteran campaign strategist regarding polling once - outside of general elections, voters treat poll Qs as "do you like the government?" In campaign time that switches to "who do you want to form the next government?"

Iβd contend that by allowing oligarch-owned print and social media to set the agenda and frame - well - damn-near everything, the @bbcβs Tim Davie has unwittingly exacerbated the UKβs tiny part of the westβs trust crisis.

We agree: if Labour says that it will listen to voters and deliver change, it must listen to the growing numbers of people demanding a fair voting system.
Democracy is a doorstep demand.
One of the most difficult voter registration systems, one of the least representative voting systems, the least comprehensible form of government.
Deffo time for an upgrade Britain!
