In May, this absurd system resulted in some Mayors being elected on as little as 25% of the vote.

This is a victory of communities around the country. But it's just the beginning...

The vote share needed to win a majority in Parliament is getting lower and lower.

So you’re judging their capacity to gain media attention by the media attention they get?

By that measure they should just say clickable shit like “immigrants out” or “down with homos” whether it’s policy or not.

Sensible policies are, by definition, less attention grabbing.

I think the most straightforward explanation is one I was given by a veteran campaign strategist regarding polling once - outside of general elections, voters treat poll Qs as "do you like the government?" In campaign time that switches to "who do you want to form the next government?"
