The NYT will be out of business very quickly if nobody subscribes to anything. Sites serving click through ads with no paywall revenue are all out of business.

Sites serving ads without pay walls, including major sites, have all gone out of business. The NYT's earnings are public, including breakdowns in revenue. Wordle is intended to entice people to subscribe to Games and the paper. Serving me a 5 second ad I click through pays for nothing.

I was helping a friend clean up the Amnesty International table at Lalopalooza in 1994. We were carrying chairs back to her car, and pushed the elevator button. The elevator doors open,and inside is George Clinton and a whole bunch of P-Funk All Stars. George stepped back so we could get on.

It's amazing. Overwhelming majority of people keep going to work, bills set on auto pay, maybe a little more credit card/HELOC debt from time to time, maybe a slightly less fancy vacay next year as a result. Income and consumption smoothing counteracts lots of disastrous policies.

The US constitution is broken. Currently senators from "low density states", i.e. places with already disproportionate power in the Senate, are working to exempt their constituents from Medicaid cuts. Screw the places where lots of people choose to live and the people living there.

It's a nice place. But the ~50k people who live there should not have the same political power as Queens just because both are "counties". Wyoming looks beautiful. I'm sure it's a great place for some. But more people live in California and the people should have power, not the land.
