Here's a lovely photo of some of my fabric art creatures. They're on green fur with a beautiful fabric galaxy in the background. There's a fabric art watermelon with eight eyes and a wide toothy grin. There's a black phantom with purple eyeshadow, red lips, and four tentacle-like arms. She has an embroidered flower on her forehead where each petal is a different color of the rainbow m there's a watermelon ghost, two yellow blob like creatures. They each have three eyes, two tentacles, and open mouths full of sharp teeth. There's also a rabbit-like creature with a purple body, a pink face, and sharp tooth. The rabbit also has two blue tentacles and a blue pouch over the belly with an embroidered pink flower on it.

I do y know that using upgrades and equipment as designed is exploiting game systems but yes, I totally agree. I LOVE number go up games where I can just out stat enemies and feel like a god.

I just finished Amazon’s new War of the Worlds movie featuring Ice Cube. Some of the worst dialogue and worst acting I’ve seen. So much fun to watch while a little high and laugh at when Ice Cube looks into the camera and says “it’s a Brave New World” and just be like… nah that’s a different story.

That’s crazy I was just talking about this movie earlier today and no one else remembered it.

Sorry this is too long for alt-text. It is a statement about my life and inclusivity. Part of it is here. I get that I have lived a privileged life. I’m male, white, from a middle class family. I generally had a pretty solid concept of my sexuality and a safe place to explore it. I remember vividly the first time in high school that someone giddily told us about how unnatural homosexuality was. How homosexual acts would harm the human body. In the moment, I laughed. I was confused and did not know what else to do. I had some concept that these things happened. As I withdrew from the conversation and had time to think about it, I realized that this conversation violated my sense of justice. I think through literature, exposure to the arts, and most importantly the safe space of role playing I had arrived as an adult with a strong sense of justice about identity. That every human is worthy of dignity regardless of how they live, as long as their life is not hurting others. I see games as a vehicle to allow people to explore identity inside of a safe space. I see it as the same bridge that I had to a world free of judgement. A world where we can all sit down together and have a common dialog about an event. We can all participate. This sense of inclusivity permeates all of the decisions I make in my life. My gamer folks, I’m not mad at you. I do not blame you for your mistakes. I just want you to think about the impact your actions have on the world. How confusing the message can be. I challenge you to look into your hearts and try to find compassion for those around you. I’m not saying I’m perfect, for sure I have made mistakes along the way. No one is. We need to accept our mistakes and strive to improve. And the rest of us need to have the grace to help you change and possibly forgive you when we all get there.

I was getting ready for then I was at Gen Con. Here are my thoughts about games right now.

This is not how corporations respond to an ineffective protest. This is how they respond to a protest that they would like to have go away.

So don't let it go away. Keep it going.

A dinner table with a mixture of board games, card games, and art pieces. Boom! Patrol, Canopy Evergreen, Leaf, Ace of Spades, Spirits of the Wild: Awakening, Tag Team, Long Shot, Regicide Legacy, and several products from Flesh and Blood TCG as well as a painting of Caeser from the new Planet of the Apes films.

Now that I’ve slept and recovered here’s my Gen Con haul sans presents for minion. My legacy group only came away with one new game this year, a stark difference from then 5 from last year we still haven’t gone through.
