Yes. The states control their elections. No law or other written decree can transfer control of the mechanisms by which elections occur to the federal government. Because the infrastructure for planning, holding, securing, and validating elections is spread out across the entire country.

Mike Johnson has nothing to do with the new Congress getting sworn in. He ceases to be Speaker on January 3. He has no power or authority to seat the new Congress or to only swear in the Republican winners. That's not how it works.

The federal government cannot purge voters from states' rolls. The states that have given Trump their voter data are not giving him/his admin *access to the voter rolls* - they are giving him a copy of the detailed data they have on every registered voter.
