I have his email address, yeah. I'll wait and see what the officer says - the call handler's opinion doesn't really matter tbh, I was just a bit irked that he kept arguing with me, when I was quoting from both a Glasgow legal firm and the Inspector for roads policing...

The call handler eventually gave up arguing with me and said they'd ask the inquiring officer to phone or email me - so I'll most likely have the same frustrating conversation tomorrow, but this time with a police officer (101 call handlers aren't police trained).

And both the incident I complained about and the incident I was calling for an update on were almost identical - an extreme close pass, where I was told they'd "be in touch" and then heard nothing back until it was too late.

Sigh.

Even though I told the 101 handler I was told this by the Edinburgh inspector for roads policing, they still claimed "Oh no, it's for things like speeding".

The reason I know this is that I made a formal complaint last time when the 14 days were ignored, which was escalated to the Inspector.

Finally through to them after an hour. And then I had to basically argue with the call handler that there is indeed a very strict 14 day window for the NIP to be sent, and the inquiring officer only has until Friday...

Very good, well done. Neither me nor the driver in lane 2 whom you also nearly hit by undertaking appreciated that overtake very much...

(Yes that's a cycle lane on my left - crossing over the mouth of a 60 mph dual carriageway slip road; you can guess why I'm not in it)

My view, right or wrong: if you find yourself standing at the side of a road screaming abuse at another road user go and have a serious think about what's gone wrong in your life that led you to this point. I'm aware that most will just think it's all other peoples fault, never theirs.

Encountered this driver again today, he was shouting abuse at me from the sidewalk as I passed. A short distance ahead his car is parked and someone else is driving it, makes me wonder if he's been to court and now requires someone else to drive.
