I read this and enjoyed it, but it's typical of Anne Tyler's books, which are often more a character study than plot-driven novels.

Exactly! Publishers may not care but high school students definitely care about page length. Longer books = fewer readers. I've stopped buying fiction over 400 pgs long for my HS library unless it's super popular because my students don't read them. I'm weeding & most bks on the list are long.

Yes! I’m struggling with it too. I used to teach the easy-bib add-on, then Google Docs discontinued it and made Google Citations and it hasn’t worked well for months. *sob*

That's so rough, Kelly. My heart goes out to you and your husband. My sister-in-law had colon cancer a few years ago at age 40, and they only caught it because the doctor was being super proactive (she had no symptoms). 45 is still too old for first screenings for many people.

6 minutes until the ALA Youth Media Awards, the only awards I look forward to all year. So exciting! And a reminder there are so many excellent and enjoyable books that don’t win book awards and kids (and adults) should be able to read widely for pleasure.

You have to go through each app. My garage app, my BANKING APPS, others had that turned on automatically. 😡
