...in the new appropriations bill. So ironically it'll be on the majority, the Republicans, to ensure the federal workers get backpay. If they don't, one could assume that the polling will just get worse for them. They should be hammered incessantly if they don't pay them.

The law was amended in 2019 as part of the restarting of the government, and it's widely interpreted that the amendment guarantees federal workers backpay. Maybe not literally guarantees but it generally does. The language essentially says when Congress reopens they can stipulate backpay...

Wait. They're both talking about the insurrection act as a means for getting around something and not because there's an insurrection? I assume this clip will be featured in a court near you pretty soon.

Anyway, Yarvin talking about fleeing vengeance in 2029 is also unserious fantasizing. There will be orderly prosecutions in front of a jury of peers where warranted. There is not going to be a violent revolution or anything of the sort. We need to stop letting children dictate public discourse.

Both can be true

A lot of this makes sense academically, but i believe the actual problem people have is the tone of "oh come on, we're not even close to it." What people want and need to hear from experts and professionals is how this steep slide can be stopped. Elections aren't what they used to be.
