Not only did you nail the frico on the crust, your pepperonis are perfectly cupped and crisped!

I try to find needles in haystacks made of other needles. Infosec/Forensics. Public Higher Education. Cooking. Uncomfortably nostalgic for the Apple IIGS and Macintosh II. Amateur Astronomer. Never too many cats.
Not only did you nail the frico on the crust, your pepperonis are perfectly cupped and crisped!
03.02.2026 20:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0For the love of all things rational, hearing all of their voices is just delightful!
03.02.2026 06:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes. Is baby. :)
03.02.2026 02:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The โneed not discussion so goes in announcementsโ thing is actually brilliant.
31.01.2026 00:44 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Wait, what? Can this power be taught? :)
31.01.2026 00:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0They really are! The last batch I grabbed from HEB were so mild I left the membrane/seeds in. The ones I got yesterday I seriously wondered if they were cross-bred with ghost peppers. :)
30.01.2026 23:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thank you for writing this "behind the scenes" piece. I discovered yall with You Need Better Friends. The videos were amazing and absolutely looked like a lot of work (I have a video editing background) and, not surprisingly, they were. :)
29.01.2026 18:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I am so glad you were able to recover it. In information security we have a saying: "offline, versioned backups." All of us eventually learn the hard way that cloud syncing is not a backup. If something gets corrupt, like yours did, it'll sync the corrupt version repeatedly.
28.01.2026 19:11 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1I had a Prodigy account for awhile....1989, I think. It was unique being all graphical (albeit slow on 1200 bps). My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I remember it really lacking the forums that CompuServe, GEnie, and AppleLink/AOL had. (I also think it was just $10/mo and not per minute.)
28.01.2026 03:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Similar to what I do. I stick it on the top shelf of the pantry and quite literally forget about it. :)
27.01.2026 18:32 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Coincidentally, I have a batch going. How long do you typically go? I'm looking to go eighteen days (doing pastrami this weekend). I wish I had started it earlier.
27.01.2026 18:05 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0(Just realized, somehow, I wasn't following you on here.....which probably explains how I had no idea you had written a book. Also....jealous of the Princeton University Press imprint.) :)
27.01.2026 02:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I had no idea you had written a book! This looks like something I would enjoy immensely. August 4 can't get here soon enough. :)
27.01.2026 02:27 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0While my university is getting much better at this, sometimes I think no one wants to be the first to blink and close. Then, right after one closes, they all close, often within an hour. The K-12 school districts, of course, announced their closures two days prior.
25.01.2026 18:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0BABY!!!! :)
24.01.2026 04:12 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Relatedly, as I have been in the infosec realm for a great many years....I start asking myself more and more.....have we really moved the needle? Have we? Or maybe we just convinced the employers that we have.
24.01.2026 04:11 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Same. They, over the years, have made some really overpriced stuff, but things like the AcousticMass speakers were just simply astonishing. All that sound from those itty-bitty things!
24.01.2026 00:53 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0In all seriousness, kinda into how the shelves and doors work/are arranged.
24.01.2026 00:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0HEB tortillas. :)
24.01.2026 00:47 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Yours doesnโt have the made-in-store ones? (Or were they outโฆ.mine wasโฆ.but I have some in the freezer, thankfully.)
24.01.2026 00:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I need to give this a listen. I mostly enjoyed VI, but something(s) bothered me about it and Iโve never been able to really put my finger on it/them all this time. Walterโs opinion might give me some insight.
24.01.2026 00:06 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I am very glad you persevered to finish it; it is absolutely gorgeous.
23.01.2026 23:32 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I mean this will all reverence and sincerity: that is one of the most awesome and stunning things of which I have ever seen (and I have some knowledge of the effort cross-stitching takes). :)
23.01.2026 23:11 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Huge baby is huge! :)
23.01.2026 01:20 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I know, right??!!
23.01.2026 00:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Never can go wrong with M51. :)
22.01.2026 23:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Big baby cat!!! :)
22.01.2026 23:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Does it really look the way it does in photographs?
20.01.2026 01:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A little sprinkle of that white powder tends to make anything better. :D
18.01.2026 21:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I need to try one with serranos and garlic. I find most recipes either way too sweet or too acidic. My base is one cup each of water and white vinegar, then just one tablespoon each of salt and sugar. One red onion and all in quart mason jar.
