A podcast of guided meditations and escapist journeys by someone who really doesn't have his act together. It's a comedy, if that wasn't clear.

09.11.2025 16:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Unprescribed Journeys logo with the title "Autumn Retreat". There is a badly drawn, orangey-brown mug of coffee in the corner.
Good news! I have created a cosy autumnal episode just in time for Halloween. I wouldn't say it's *deeply* cursed, but a good friend did have to tell me to get over myself and just post it. It will be with your ears shortly.
31.10.2025 14:00 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0You can't joke about anything anymore. Because you signed a multi figure contract with the Saudi government that said they wouldn't pay you if you did.

15.09.2025 11:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sending love to everyone in London today (except for the bigots, obviously). Look after each other.
13.09.2025 15:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A common European frog surfacing in a small pond that I created in the garden with some water plants and plenty of places to climb out. It was unimpressed with me clearing out some of the algae.
A frog in my garden? In this economy? #rewilding
12.09.2025 10:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm troubled but unsurprised by the police arresting peaceful protesters in London. What baffles me is citizens saying "They're just doing their jobs", "They didn't write the laws", etc. I am BEGGING you to read a single book about 20th Century Europe. We have buildings full of them! Embarrassing.
08.09.2025 10:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0UK people, if you're like me, you may have forgotten that everyone's phone alarms are about to go off, so I hope this post may save at least one person from jumping out of their skin.
Can't save you from anything else, of course. It's still a dystopian nightmare here, best of luck xx
Excited to be stopping by the London Podcast Festival later. Anonymously and just as a spectator, obviously, but excited all the same.
07.09.2025 13:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The man at the recycling centre was whistling Saria's Song today. Reminder: Don't propose to men at the recycling centre. They're at work
06.09.2025 13:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Bake Off is back, and I keep having to remind myself that I only joined social media to share my daft little comedy and not to get distracted by every little NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING THAT'S WAY TOO HOT FOR CRΓME PΓTISSIΓRE, YOU'RE GOING TO END UP WITH SCRAMBLED EGGS

20.08.2025 15:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Outer space! Cocktails! An overqualified actor friend making background alien noises! A new genre of infuriating alien bar music! This episode has it all.
18.08.2025 11:53 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0This is badass, Sacha.
09.08.2025 10:21 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A vine hanging from a terracotta-coloured pot with three cucamelons growing from it. They look like tiny watermelons!
For those of you who are dying for a follow-up from the Gardening 101 episode: I did, in fact, grow cucamelons this year. They are fun to grow, look like tiny watermelons, and taste like cucumbers. Every bite a disappointment. π
07.08.2025 11:12 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm not proud of myself; I just need you to know that I got this.
07.08.2025 10:30 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A graphic for the next episode of Unprescribed Journeys: The Space Bar. Alongside the title there is an illustration of a sparkling, cobalt-blue cocktail in a hurricane glass, with two purple straws and a slice of some unknown, indigo and teal, citrus-like fruit on the frost-coated rim. It's not an amazing drawing but I did it myself because you can just do that and AI is evil.
Nearly finished! Guest music and voices that may surprise you. A nice thing going badly, which may, at this point, be unsurprising. But HOW will it go badly? Who will be to blame? These are the questions.
06.08.2025 19:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks! It's great to be able to look at your progress for sure. Still, yours look fantastic so I can't wait to see where you go next!
24.07.2025 16:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A lightweight Venetian mask painted mostly in gold with a diamond pattern in red and cream on the left side, weathered to look old.
The mask maker I met in Venice was brilliant. When I entered he was sitting at the back of a shadowy studio crammed floor to ceiling with beautiful and eerie masks, sketching away under a tiny lamp. I only had the space in my bag and cash for one of his smaller ones but I still think it's great.
24.07.2025 09:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A battered old Majora's Mask made of weathered wood and plaster.
Oh, it's nothing compared to yours; I was still a kid! But will share so as to not sound like a massive liar. I like to think I'd do a better job now but I'm fond of the old thing. It won't let me take it down.
24.07.2025 09:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Well. I can't relate to that at all. Hey, look over there!

Completely unrelated to the show (unless you count the rewilding episode) but I saw this absolutely stunning dragonfly on my walk today. I THINK it's a southern hawker in the rarer blue form? Could be completely wrong. Bad naturalist.
27.06.2025 16:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Did you know that people give up on fiction podcasts because of the way a word is pronounced?
Well, in the recent Gallery episode, we made sure to use three different pronunciations of Van Gogh so that everyone has the chance to be irritated. We at Unprescribed are β€οΈ equal opportunity annoyers. β€οΈ
