Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing? 2? Questions I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up. Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Research and show off little free libraries in your area
Proud posts about local libraries' amenities
Posts about the local state or national park and how useful it is, thankful that your taxes go to it
Congratulating local school teams or clubs on their goals, thanking teachers + professors

If you're in a rightwing state, or a state going strangely purple, making posts about the leftist things going on there whether it's here or facebook or wherever you like posting, the more you make the better. If they want to flood a zone we can flood it right back with *reality*, which they hate.

Similarly, get your pals onto nextdoor and shift the mood. Make it clear this is your space and not theirs. If the environment is hostile to a bacteria it cannot exist there; create a pond of friendly rainbow tinted acid that your neighbor with all the trump flags will dissolve in. Be nice about it.

Your state, city, or town probably has a subreddit. This subreddit is probably being completely astroturfed by right wing folks/bots. What would happen if you and say, five of your friends started posting there? What would happen if you turned it into your own hangout and downvoted the nazis?
