The local magpies are teaching their younglings to ransack my garden in various ways. Not content with their usual petty vandalism, today's lesson is Blueberry Heist.

I made one that raided my pantry. 🧶

I think I've just discovered my calling. 🤘

Jake (a white whippet) in his bed. Only his eyes and snoot are visible, peeking out from under a thick, brown furry blanket. He has achieved maximum cosiness, which would be fine if we weren't in the middle of a heatwave.

I worry about this dog sometimes. It's 27°C outside, and yet the heat-seeking idiot still stands by his bed forlornly until I tuck him in under his heftiest blanket.

Paid my last respects to the Wyndford flats yesterday. They've been stood empty and stripped out for the last few months, three skeletal giants silently awaiting demolition day.

Apparently it's World Puppetry Day! My Kermit is still far from finished, but in the meantime this is Aileen from a couple of years ago. Go make a puppet. It's fun.

The head of a Kermit-style frog puppet, made of blue fleece (shout out to the Mandors remnant bin!). It's lying on my desk full of pins and sharpie lines while I figure out how to get the shape and size right.

...in the meantime, I'm using some cheapo polar fleece to draft a pattern. Jim Henson was a big guy with massive mitts, so the biggest challenge is going to be scaling my Kermit down to fit my puny wee hands. That's going to take some trial and error.

Hello. The last few weeks have been A Lot (in good ways and bad). However, things are settling now, and I've finally had time and energy to get going on my froggy friend.

The fleece I dyed came out a bit too dark. I've got an idea that could still make it work...

Two sheets of green fleece fabric drying over the side of a bathtub. They're completely different shades - the one on the left is a nice, yellowy mossy green, while the right one is more blue looking.

I'm dyeing nylon fleece to make a replica Kermit puppet. My dye pot wasn't big enough to get all of it in, so I thought I'd cut it in half and do it in batches. Same dye, it'll turn out the same colour, right?

No. No it did not.

A large pot on a gas stove. It's full of dark green liquid with a few folds of cloth breaking the surface, and a green-stained wooden spatula. There are bottles of yellow and green fabric dye on the worktop next to it.

My No Man's Guy is on hold until it's warm enough to 3D print things again, so today we're cooking up something new. 🐸
