Great column, as always. I think you have one error, likely due to auto-correct: Last sentence in the paragraph where you mention your second point of contempt: “They are not entitled to our respect and administration.” I think that is supposed to end with “admiration.”

I think this is exactly right. That would have been a defendable reason to vote yes before the shutdown began. I wouldn’t have liked it, but I could understand it. Not now, when voters clearly support the Dem position.

This is absolutely correct.

Still think it is a horrible decision by Justice Jackson. If she thinks her colleagues would order the stay, make them do that and show that their deliberate misreading of the law is one more sign of their corruption.

I doubt it will be hard for them at all. In the view of the majority of the pundit class, only a Republican can have a mandate.
