Welp!?

"Peppers" came to us this past summer as a baby chick with severely deformed feet. We taped them with snow shoe pads and worked on her nutrition, but her feet were determined to curl how they developed (most likely) before she hatched. Well, she is PERFECT the way she is, and we love her so much.

You should probably wear gloves and mask just to be safer from bird flu. I'm really sorry. It's always so hard when you find an injured bird. But wildlife rescues are wonderful. Ours has a recording that gives instructions for these types of situations when they're not able to answer phones.

Put it in a shoebox and call a wildlife rescue in your area. They always have good advice. If you have a heating pad, put it under half the box, so the bird can get warm.
This is what I would do.
I'm not an expert, but I have found injured birds before.

I do see your point about the writers of essays hitting the streets, too! Some are, though!

A lot of people weren't paying attention until now because it wasn't actually affecting them. Sad that's what it took, but I still think it's helpful to have essays on the subject. Maybe it'll help get more people out to the streets.
