CNN editor-in-chief Mark Thompson, following a While House meeting, sought to soften the news network's coverage of President Trump's demolition of the East Wing, claiming viewers aren't that interested in the story, according to the Status newsletter.

Three Days In Chicago: A City on the Brink
Groups are finding new ways to stand up to ICE in Chicago. Here are their stories.
"My reason for being there wasn’t just to see them confront ICE: It was to better understand how a community defends its vulnerable neighbors, parents of schoolchildren, and fellow churchgoers." @adriancarrasquillo.bsky.social on the ground in Chicago: www.thebulwark.com/p/three-days...

what we are seeing is a revealed preference by the bosses (per this paper) for workers who signal H and provide L rather than workers who signal L and provide H. this is the reason for the RTO crusade despite literally no emprical evidence that WFH was harmful.

When Trump goes after big targets, the smaller ones often make consequential, silent choices. This is the chilling effect in action.

My cab driver in Arkansas was a Bush-McCain-Romney-Trump-Trump-Trump voter. He said he hadn't given much thought to the 2028 election, but that if Zohran Mamdani becomes mayor of New York, the Democrats can kiss his vote goodbye.

Important and correct analysis of our present situation. We have to keep seeing the big picture and not be distracted by the differences in the pretexts. The pretexts all lead to a common goal.

It's hard to overstate how fully engaged Chicago and the surrounding suburbs are in this ICE madness. There are neighborhood watch alerts, spontaneous crowds gathering outside schools at pick up & drop off plus madly blowing whistles and honking car horns, this city is fighting back and hard.

… Oh I just learned that Mellon’s legendarily grotesque book supposedly outlining his views on blacks, unions, the working class, etc — a work so offensive that the Mellon family disappeared it — was re-published by RFK Jr’s people last year. Can’t wait for that to recirculate now.

If That’s a donation, it goes to the treasury and only congress can decide how to spend it. No such (lawful) thing as private payment of government obligation.
