This is just one of many studies over the years that show a relationship between nuclear plants & cancer
Itโs important to note that cancer is not the only health risk involved. Cardiac issues, infant mortality and more are linked to these dangerous radioactive facilities!

While the article focuses on international reporting, we have a problem here in the US as well: rooftop solar is counted as โdemand reductionโ not as energy generation.
But of course it DOES generate electricity and transmits it to the user very efficiently without adding any strain to the grid!
Thanks so much for posting this.
Now I have a convenient link to explain the problem instead of trying to fit all the info in a character-limited post!
Apparently about 75% of the population in the US thinks the government should be addressing climate change.
According to โmathโ thatโs more than the 2/3 of the House & Senate that are needed to reinstate the finding legislatively.
Please mention to your representatives: midterms

Speaking about responsible energy policy and planning, letโs just have a sack race to July 4th:

Like battery storage, costs could come down to make them a viable โadd-onโ for data centersโ etc heavily concentrated demand
I any case they seems preferable to newly proposed โDeep Fissionโ drill holes with nuclear reactors at the bottom (that have DOE support)
No fuel cost or radioactive waste!
I hope only โclosed loopโ geothermal will be considered for most areas.
And of course geological stability must be considered.
This technology could be a win/win by preserving fossil fuel jobs and equipment - but it needs to avoid a number of that industryโs problems while avoiding its emissions!
Counting rooftop solar as a reduction in demand rather than as a generating capacity hides its true benefits.
But of course that might be the whole point.
Really appreciate Janeโs comments about her opposition to SMR nuclear reactors (along with her long-standing opposition to conventional nuclear plants).
Can we get some blue hats that say โJane Was Right About Everythingโ?

Gee - they just noticed?
Brings to mind a saying about a barn door - but of course thereโs the other one about โbetter late than . . .โ
Beginning in my teens, I worked at my fatherโs architectural office where the blueprint machines featured open ammonia troughs
The smell was everywhere and should have served as a warning long before he died early with Parkinsonโs, encephalitis, heart disease and cancer
Glad I pursued law instead
Cream puffs were served at the Albany Hilton for NY Gov. Hochul as she announced expensive new nuclear plants for the state and our utility rates soar!

How quickly the rats scurry away.
Every one of them needs to be arrested as an โaccessoryโ to this murder.
Hope people who missed the live event will watch the video of this first Forum in a series explaining not only why building new nuclear plants is a terrible idea - but what we can do instead.
Renewables are not just safer, they are cheaper and faster to implement: a win-win for the climate!
If he knew that approximately 89 percent of Greenland's population is indigenous Greenlandic Inuit, he would probably lose interest.
He canโt even distinguish between Norway & Denmark.
Heโs likely envisioning himself as the leader of a country of proud lily-white Vikings.
Trump knows very little about Greenland and seems to be obsessing over it due to a rumor about Russian or Chinese interest in the country.
His letter aligns with his view that he should have all the toys - prizes, countries (Cf. Venezuela), and command of world leadersโ attention.
An unwelcome change!
Is every institution just going to accede to Trumpโs wishes?
Indeed!

Amazing accomplishment!
Fortunately all my projects for the day are โvirtualโ - and my middle kitty is insistent that I maintain a level lap for the duration . . .
