You may feel that way, but it doesn't change the fact there is no licensure for a cable, satellite, or internet TV outlet. There is no license to be revoked. Furthermore, even with broadcast there is no such thing as a "news license". Aren't you doubling-down on a falsehood? Just like, ummm...

My parents oven croaked a week ago and they got the new one Wednesday. I got the attached text from my father later that evening.

I could absolutely see him try that as a stunt to promote Optimus sales. Picture a Super Bowl commercial where the robot does some dishes, recommends treatment for your hemorrhoids, and then hops in the Tesla to hit the drive-thru for snacks.

What if Musk puts LIDAR into Optimus and that's the mechanism by which Tesla owners can at least have full self driving?

I can actually picture how this happens. LLMs need strings of text to do their predictions. That's why they're bad with math and spelling. They do words, not letters. A slide with distributed bullet points would be very confusing to an LLM.

My daughter's got some sort of science presentation project, and the teacher demoed a feature called "Beautify Slides" which takes input and makes a slide. She was demonstrating it in class yesterday and my kid got a quick snapshot of the results:

On that note, someone (you?) suggested we switch to all-nude ski jumping to ensure athletic ability and not suit engineering is the decisive factor, sort of like what happened with swimming a few years back. This inevitably require the IOC to consider whether Nair is doping.

I guess this is one of those areas where LLM AI would work well. It could detect patterns and figure out who's likely to be susceptible to what stunt. For example, sometimes it might be better to bury costs in menu prices. Other times not.

One thing I learned from Reddit was how they try to hide what the costs are. Sometimes it's in the menu prices, other times it's the service fee, or the delivery fee, and then there's weird discounts. Also, different people can see different prices.

I was getting fuel at Costco a year ago and heard this <sound> and there was a pickup with a huge trailer of goats next to me. I looked them up, and they seemed to focus mostly on invasive plants, but they did small projects too, like removing some vines from your house.

Funny, my 6' daughter, who rejected basketball despite repeated pleas from coaches, but got drafted into volleyball a few years back She was worried one of he arms would get bigger than the other. I've told her "stronger, yes, but bigger, probably not".

There's a Nepali place we use for takeout a lot. Next time I order there, I'll have to ask them about their DoorDash experience. They've got a really good in-house instant order system for takeout, but the DoorDash etc stickers on the door too.

Calling out spineless Congresspeople isn't doomerism, it's the opposite. A lot of them have spent their careers as if their only duty is to get elected. If they got elected, they won. They don't think they have to *do* anything. Primary them. Get involved in a caucus. Run for local office yourself.

The DoorDash reddit is an amazing read. I spent hours reading the Top Posts. It's a whole unique universe of gaming the system, scams, occasional crimes, and employer vs employee. There's one for Instacart too, which is yet another ecosystem until itself.

There's a catch. They do advertise that, but they have these words in the small print:

Same Menu Prices for Delivery*

*Additional delivery fee (for courier and third-party delivery provider) and service fee (for courier) apply

Don't bother, we've tried to get their attention to issues such as ICE gangs smashing windows and shooting neighbors, but most electeds respond with something about voting for them in order to bring down the price of groceries.

Even worse, some restaurants felt they had to keep advertising on the DoorDashes, even at negative margins, because if they stopped, fewer people would know they existed or would assume they'd closed. They'd lose dine-in and carryout business.

07.02.2026 14:55 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The result is a) restaurants stopped delivering themselves because nobody would think to order outside DoorDash and b) the DoorDashes became a delivery cartel and could squeeze the margins for delivery.

I read a thing about how NY restaurants used to do that, but then consumers stopped going to their web sites. They picture DoorDash etc as a marketplace for restaurants, not a service unto itself.
