I think 2 is still Star Alliance and 5 is OneWorld, but I checked and Aer Lingus has a limited codeshare with BA. I bet that’s what happened. I used to fly LHR-DUB a lot and Aer Lingus was super cheap.

That said, I made the same error as Noah at EWR. It never occurred to me there was an inter-terminal bus.

I had some colleagues who did it when heading to Germany. I told them to allow two hours at a minimum, and that was assuming they found the correct shuttle bus.

The UK was never part of Schengen, so Brexit shouldn’t have affected that process too much. It was always a pain to enter the UK from the Schengen zone. I used to live in London, and I’d never have considered a flight involving a terminal change.

That’s from an Ian Banks novel. The only crime in the future is murder, and if you do it, they “slap-drone” you. A drone follows you for the rest of your life to make sure you don’t do it again.

I could even have supported an effort to rebuild domestic manufacturing through an escalating tariff regime across a few years. Maybe. We’re not doing that, we got “25% on Canada for mean quoting of Reagan!”

Let’s say tariffs were vital to national security. How ‘bout going to Congress and passing one of those law thingies?

My 9th grade civics teacher was one of the last people to opt out of Social Security. He was proud of his decision. He called it a pyramid scheme that was doomed to fail.

Unfortunately, he probably means selecting a plan that is “right for you”. Young, healthy people can get a nice cheap catastrophic plan with a huge deductible. Then, if you get cancer or something, you upgrade to a more comprehensive plan. Makes total sense, right?

What we need is a *perpetual* mortgage. You pay the costs of to service a loan and maintain the property. The genius of my plan is that you don’t need capital. Specialists can do it for you and pass on the costs to you. You can even leave the property and easily pass the payments to another.
