Last night DC neighbors showed up at a police checkpoint at 14th & V ST. NW with handwritten signs warning drivers to avoid the block.

In response, the Stop DOL Cuts Coalition made the following statement: 
โ€œUnder Secretary Chavez De-Remer, President Trump, and the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Department of Labor staff has already been reduced by 20% thanks to ill-advised firings and the Deferred Resignation Program (DRP). A further Reduction in Force would have an immediate catastrophic effect on workers and employers. It would translate directly to: 
More wage theft and other crimes against workers (U.S. workers currently lose tens of billions of dollars per year from wage theft);
Less investigation of child labor, leading to more children in exploitative and at times deadly jobs;

Your Rights
Generally speaking, for non-SES, executive-branch employees, your agency must:
โ— Provide 60 dayโ€™ advance notice of a RIF (though that can be reduced to 30 days based
on โ€œnot reasonably foreseeable circumstances.โ€) 5 C.F.R. ยง 351.801.
โ— For any bargaining-unit employees, provide the union with at least 60 daysโ€™ notice of any
RIFs, and more if a collective-bargaining agreement requires it
โ— Set a โ€œcompetitive areaโ€ defining the organizational unit being cut and a โ€œcompetitive
levelโ€ defining the types of jobs being cut; RIFs must target positions, not people.
โ— Make a โ€œretention listโ€ that ranks workers based on their tenure, veterans preference,
length of service, performance, and other criteria to decide who is terminated.
โ— Provide these rights to probationary employees as well as non-probationary employees.
โ— Provide severance pay: 1 week of pay for years of civilian service, 2 weeks for years >
10, plus an increase if youโ€™re over 40
โ— Allow employees whose functions are transferred to a different competitive area to
transfer to those jobs
What To Do
โ— Before RIF Notice: Organize your coworkers, discuss strategies with them, keep your
union informed, download your eOPF folder, and consider what allies you can gather to
fight on your and your coworkersโ€™ behalf.
โ— When you get a RIF Notice:
โ—‹ Ask the person who sent you the RIF notice and your HR representative in
writing for the retention register and check it thoroughly. Here is sample language
that you can use:
โ–  โ€œHi, my name is [NAME]. I just received a Reduction in Force notice,
dated [DATE]. Please send me the retention register that the Department
of Labor has compiled that applies to my competitive area and
competitive level immediately, along with any other information to which I
am entitled under 5 C.F.R. Section 351.505.
โ—‹ If they donโ€™t give the retention register to you, FOIA it โ€ฆ
