Being a person with autism has not been easy but the reason it hasn't been easy- is because non-autistic people are not taught how to interact with autistic people. Autistic people are expected to socially mask & neurotypicals generally don't have even a base idea of how autistic people communicate.

Nobody told the people raising us or the churches tasked w/ developing us spiritually that you don't create strong, confident people through fear & shame-- or maybe they just didn't care if we grew up strong & confident.

Maybe that wasn't, actually, their objective. Huh.
