Itβs teaching me about other autistic folk and what itβs like to be a visual thinker.

Autistic people are expected to socially mask & neurotypicals generally don't have even a base idea of how autistic people communicate.

Maybe that wasn't, actually, their objective. Huh.
π’ New research!
Autism isnβt *just* about challenges
We have strengths too but these are rarely recognised, which can lead to:
- low self-esteem
- shame
- stigma
- having less direction in life
Lampinen et al explore autistic strengths in a new paper π
Do you relate to any of these? π

This chart is interesting and why I asked for an ADHD referral (prob wasnβt done as my MH team are shit). I fit a lot of the #AuDHD categories rather than just autism. I donβt tend to be impulsive. Impulsive is trauma responses.

π¬ Autistic people arenβt defective, uncaring, or unsociable

If I could get non-autistic people to understand one thing, it wouldn't be that I have support needs. It would be that YOU have support needs.
