Loool. Benefits of going out of my way to go to the same place every time. Today’s radiographer had looked at my last scan, so she knew what my file looked like and what my internal organs are. She clearly had NO IDEA what to expect M, with Ovaries to look like in the waiting room though 😂

Once a student tech called her supervisor, which was both a perfectly acceptable response (the urinary system IS different, I’d want to confirm “should I change anything on the computer” or “is this above my skill level” too) but also very funny.

They recover okay, and the people actually touching me usually deal with it by not asking annoying questions like what my pronouns are, just confirming that they have the correct file, which is far preferable imho.

Managed to get in to see my GP about a physical issue that arose just before Xmas.

Apparently I do have a noticeable Something Odd that warrants investigation!

I actually feel like I’m more able to BE genderqueer under the “ehh some kind of man” designation than I was when I tried out they/them nonbinariness!

But I do not have to explain the essence of my gender the way that I would
a) in my previous academic field
or
b) if I needed to explain they/them pronouns every time.

I get she/her’d at work based on my phone voice, which takes managing. I have ended up in some hilarious situations where people I have spoken to in the corridors don’t realise that email me (he/him) is the dyke-esque person they met in a corridor.
