In between sewing projects, I do other crafts with my long-term kid clients. I’m drilling larger holes in the laminated clay beads we recently made. I love the pink and blue fuzz that comes off the drill.

I gotta believe this is a universal opinion.

We need to shut down the word "performative" until we can figure out what the hell is going on. Of course adopting symbols of protest and resistance is performative! Performance is a core strategy for mass movements!! That's why the call them demonstrations!!!

I honestly thought meeting the campaign goal was all that’s required. I’ve never run one. As a funded I just look at the goal number.

May explained why the emergency shelter directory is either not updated or nonexistent.

No matter what, if there’s even a sniff of a nuke threat, I’m crashing whatever wedding is going on. There’s a sign!!

But why is such a fancy building leaving an age’d emergent sign on the building? Any bets it has some dumb historical preservation reason?

I’m sure it it not- I texted SHELTER and the zip code to FEMA (to 43362) and there isn’t an emergency shelter for 200 miles. Some peace of mind that in a major disaster I will not suffer, for I will be dead.

Pleased to find there might be still a fallout shelter in my neighborhood, and that it is in the fancy-schmancy ballroom venue. I left a message for the events coordinator to see if it’s still viable. Will make my day if I get a callback.

We're getting ready to cut the cord on our NYTimes subscription and now I'm panicking. Please tell me reassuring things. My reasons for not giving them money anymore are how they've covered the genocide in Gaza and the absolutely garbage fire they've created for the trans community.

Yes, I would have liked to talk to her about it but she is nine and I’m a sewing teacher. 25yo me would have made a damn mess of that situation!

My 9yo sewing student I see weekly asked me about ICE (scary men). I asked her where she’d heard about it (school) and told her she was safe here and to ask her parents about it. 🙁 At every level, this invasion will have effects. Even kids on the other side of the country.
