(Like, the only time I wrote-in a candidate was when he ran for re-election bc I hated him so much and couldn't bring myself to vote for him but I wasn't going to vote GOP, obv. But boy, did I make sure not to miss his daily COVID updates.)

Such a lesson to me about how easy it is to be duped when things are scary. I fucking HATED him prior to COVID, then during it, as an NYCer, tuned in to him every day bc he was the only person who seemed to be telling it straight, but no, in the end he was the same creep he'd always been.

Me too, even though I HATED him before COVID (and again, after). It was a lesson to me that, when times are scary, it's very easy for even those of us who think we're strong critical thinkers, to get caught up in wanting someone in charge who acts like they know what they're doing. Lesson learned.

I had to go help my stepmom with a move for most of this week, and it didn't even occur to me to think about what the kid was gonna eat; I knew my husband would be on top of everything. I cannot imagine being in this woman's kind of marriage. Ugh. She deserves better.
