Best thing I've read in a while, but suspect nothing will change.
It seems much of our media are intent on getting clicks and unfortunately sensationist headlines gets that
With such a small sample, it is certainly well within the margin of error

- Borrowing โฌ๏ธ (record surplus last month)
- Inflation (and interest rates) โฌ๏ธ
- UK fastest growing European G7 economy
- Retail sales up 4.5% over the year
Thereโs lots more to do but Britainโs economy is on the mend.
It's also noticeable Government borrowing costs are coming down, with ten year gifts at their lowest for over a year
This is a virtuous circle, lower borrowing costs, less debt, drives lower borrowing costs etc
Ultimately it means more money for public services

Wage and earnings inflation might be bad news for the Bank of England but it's better news for the Government finances.

Labour is lifting half a million children out of poverty.
Reform wants to put them straight back there.
Nigel Farage should be ashamed.
This is huge. I believe it has the potential to make or entirely break this government.

In comparison Labour have raised ยฃ44b in taxes, many of which were on the wealthy

Why did you edit the video to miss out the few seconds before where Reeves talked about cutting ยฃ150 off energy bills?
19.02.2026 04:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I think there are some pretty legitimate questions for the Greens to answer in this short thread โ entirely possible they didn't know the history here, but if so they should say that and distance themselves.
18.02.2026 19:02 โ ๐ 162 ๐ 66 ๐ฌ 14 ๐ 4You suggest cause and effect, which isn't at all certain
For example paying people a decent wage means they can spend more and more people could be employed
Wonder what the result would be if you gave a choice of bigger profits or more jobs. Suspect it would be overwhelming for more jobs
If you don't know how all this works now here is a perfect example....
Yesterday: Reform were asked about minimum wage and the outcome was that they will reduce it - worrying people and getting some negative press.
Today: an unsourced, anonymously briefed, speculative story is 'revealled'...
