31.07.2025 06:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That'd be an adorable friendship. Looking forward to Familiar Territory!
31.07.2025 06:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I admire @daniel-lorn.bsky.social - possibly my favourite author with a DNF on my list. His imagination is despicable in the best way and his worlds are brought to sordid and slimy life through an intangible intensity to his words. Love or hate his story, it WILL live with you. #HorrorWritersChat
30.07.2025 20:57 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0"it's the light that can save you from the darkness." If you can find your friend, you can probably find your way out, but if you lose that, it's so much harder to find your way out (as unfortunately some characters have learned the hard way)
#HorrorWritersChat
Well, Erica from A Survivor's Eye feels like she'd be into witchy stuff, so she'd probably adopt Pocus the cat familiar from my Familiar Territory WIP if that counts ๐คฃ #HorrorWritersChat
30.07.2025 20:50 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Late tonight but hi all! William Beck here - writer of hopeful horrors and disability rep.
Well, the words anxious, depression would definitely be there, and hopefully writer would be worth some acknowledgement!

A promo graphic for Rotten Roots: An Order of the Strawberry Circle Short Story by Susanne Schmidt The background is dark gray, showing the black silhouettes of trees, and the vaguely transparent silhouette of a red dog (the book's main character has a ghost dog friend). A modern white font says "Come out and play." above the cover for Rotten Roots displayed on an e-reader. The Rotten Roots cover itself features a drawing by Susanne Schmidt showing strange, glowing pink-and-blue flowers blossoming from a twisting, viney plant that is growing toward an open door. Behind the door is only a yellow-greenish light that seems as ominous as the plant overgrowing the foreground.
My new horror novelette is out!
Join smalltown graveyard keeper Sven and his opinionated ghost dog, Fi, on a slow-burn journey into darkness when they investigate what's causing the faces of the dead to appear on the cemetery trees.

Ooh, a terrifying pair ๐
30.07.2025 19:51 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hmmmโฆ The Girl would get along well with McKenzie. Sheโd enjoy watching him work one murder at a time. Not sure about besties. Predators generally work alone, so heโd likely respect her overwhelming numbers and she would find him entertaining.

Damn... I don't know.
I think Aura (MC in Heir to The Sun) and Storm (MC in Winds) could be friends, but Storm isn't the best at letting people close. Samerra (Storm's GF) might be quicker to make friends, but would probably find Aura a bit immature.
#HorrorWritersChat Q2:
Probably Raven from my book The Assassins Raven and the nurse from my short story The Beach. They have both survived horrific encounters (Raven kills Zombies and the nurse survives being lined up and shot at during WW2), they would enjoy sharing some wine as they recover.
#HorrorWritersChat
Iโm certain that Sarah Medley from โOpen the Pitโ would be fast-friends with Nina from my currently out of print paranormal romance โCurse of St Lilithโ, mostly because theyโre both in the music industry when not running from spirits.
I'd say the title character from my story "The Man From the Water Department" would be at home with the driver of a forthcoming story called "The Black Van."

Fun question! Iโm going to choose Cleo in the Perfect Prophet series and Pedro in the series WIP. Cleo is drawn to โmen who need fixing,โ and Pedro needs fixing due to trauma. She would cheer him up in a heartbeat, and he would welcome it. And yesโfriends w/benefits applies. #HorrorWritersChat
30.07.2025 19:02 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oooh, fascinating one, #HorrorWritersChat. Not 'real life', as neither could exist but...
Leandro from Bloodhound and Ron from Pale Blood would be quick friends, they could bond over pining for vampires they can't have and Leandro could probably get Ron to stop worrying so much about what he is.
This is a tough question. I think Petra from my current work in progress would be best friends with Maribelle from my Lupine short story, especially since one is part dragon and one is part wolf.
#HorrorWritersChat
#HorrorWritersChat Rose from โUnintended Designsโ and Shiloh from โCanine and Cormorantโ would get along so well. Theyโre both upbeat and social! Unfortunately for Rose, she ended up in the scifi horror while Shiloh got to be in the urban fantasyโฆ
