Overall, I guess some people will tune in for the show and those watching the game will probably leave the telly on, so the total goes up (Maroon 5 excepted)

The games are over 3 hours long and presumably viewers turn off if it’s clear who’s going to win? So the average viewership for the event as a whole drops

The halftime show’s only about 15 minutes so won’t have that issue and the average viewership stays higher
